Canon PIXMA TR8620a Review - RTINGS.com

Overall, the photos that the Canon TR8620a prints look excellent. It's very good at handling darker areas of a photo, so black items don't get lost in the shadows. Colors look bright and vibrant, and colors blend into each other smoothly, as seen in the blue sky at the top center and the sunset photo at the bottom right. However, some areas are a bit less defined, like the yellow tree leaves, and in the photo of the three people, the shadow of the person on the left has a lot of half-toning present.

There are a few defects on the photo caused by the printer's hardware. The tiny spikes on the metal sheet rollers that push the photo out of the output tray leave small dotted lines on the pictures. While it isn't very noticeable everywhere, you can see it in dark areas. Also, the rubber sheet rollers leave a slight marking on the photos. We don't know if this is a problem with our unit only, so let us know in the discussions if you faced a similar issue.

The scanned images provided above are for reference only. They look worse than the physical photos due to the scanning and uploading process. The score is based on the actual physical photos.
